Drove my friend's 330d wagon back to back with the FiST, I've never driven two cars that have felt so different.
The 330d is super nice, awesome leather seats, chunky steering wheel, and my god is it pretty. But, this being a 2001 model it had some issues. The steering was super heavy, like ridiculously insanely heavy, the clutch was heavy, the throws weren't easy, mostly my issues with the car had to do with things being/feeling heavy. That car will still fuckin' haul ass but it definitely isn't 'quick' or 'nimble'. I would definitely consider buying one in the future, especially with the M package.
But the fun part came when we switched cars back and got to talk about it. The first thing he said is "alright, your car is fast", up until today he has been talking a lot of shit about my car and Ford in general and I think this should shut him up. He also praised the handling and said that with better tires that he car would be a monster. But all-in-all it was a good Jalop day that ended with good beer and DBZ.
What'd you do today?

Is that 2015 ST?
I sat around on the couch watching TV all day.

No it's a 2014, and I haven't had a TV day in so long, definitely overdue.

The 'Ring hasn't happened yet but it became pretty apparent today that the 330d doesn't really stand a chance, it doesn't have the acceleration you'd need to come close.

That's how I felt driving my '05 4Runner for the first time in a month after driving my FR-S every day. Went from being used to a very low, small, manual sports car with incredibly dynamic handling to a tall, big, automatic SUV with all the handling sensitivity of a Red Flyer wagon. I even tried to put the clutch in twice when I turned the key on the 4Runner. lol

Yeah, it's good. It's a benefit of having the summer off!
That's a nice looking ST though.

Thank you! It's all stock for now, roof racks are on the way (winter is coming) and then I am going to Mountune to get this little guy upgraded, exhaust eventually and then I'll stop messing with it and enjoy what I've got.

Did you time the acceleration? It seems to me the sensation of speed will be very different between these cars. I'll take my cars as a comparison, a Peugeot 406 coupe 2.0 and a Peugeot 205 GTI 1.6. On paper the 205 is very marginally quicker to 100 kmh (62 mph). About 0.4 seconds or so. In reality it feels far quicker than the 406, probably because it's a lot smaller and weighs hardly more than half. The sensation of speed is just very different.

Did you guys ever have that race you posted about earlier? Did the FiST kick his ass like we all thought?

that steering must be a BMW thing. When I test drove my 5, I had a Grand Cherokee at the time and when my wife got in to drive I warned her, I said "hey, the steering is heavy babe, be ready..." Hell, I went as far as to ask the seller if he had power steering issues.

It not only feels faster but is faster. Neither one of us while driving the 330d could keep up with the FiST.
